Stipa Tenuissima

Fine, billowing, thread-like foliage forms neat, arching clumps that tremble with the slightest breeze. The fluffy, buff-coloured flowerheads give a silvery shimmer to this tactile, deciduous grass. There are few plants that add movement and texture to the garden better than Stipa tennuissima. This low maintenance, hardy perennial is resilient and drought tolerant once established, seedling about freely to create fabulous wispy drifts. A fine choice for sunny borders, patio containers, gravel gardens or softening the edges of pathways. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 30cm (12″).
