Intense tooth-shaped green leaves provide a stunning background to this spectacular, rounded, deciduous shrub. Dark purple-brown stems bear large, lace-cap heads of flowers in shades of deep blue-purple in summer through to autumn. As with most Hydrangeas, those grown in alkaline soils will produce deeper pink blooms, whereas in acid they will be mostly blue dominating. Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Zorro’ makes for an excellent cut flower too – not to mention being awarded a prestigious RHS AGM! Height & Spread: 1.5m (5′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
The blue flowers will take on a pink hue as they fade through autumn and may also be affected by alkaline tap water or soil. For the deepest blue flowers right through the season we recommend the use of Hydrangea Colourant
